Team analysis

North has been struggling for the past few months, achieving almost nothing with its roster. As a result, the organization is making significant changes in order to turn things around. Kjaerbye has recently left Astralis and joined North. Another important change made by North just before the cs_summit 2 tournament was the replacement of cajunb with mertz.

They had a few minor results last year and have recently qualified for the Intel Extreme Masters XII World Championship by defeating teams like BIG, North and Gambit Esports in the process. In spite of all this, they’re still an underdog at cs_summit 2 and are extremely likely to lose their first match against Cloud9.

Ninjas in Pyjamas

After their tournament victory at Intel Extreme Masters XII Oakland back in November, the Swedes from NiP haven’t had much success. Along their recent failures, they managed to miss the ELEAGUE Major entirely after they finished 9th-11th in the tournament’s closed qualifier for the European region.

NiP has recently made an important change in an attempt to reinvent the team’s playstyle. The organization brought in a new coach (Faruk “pita” Pita), who will do what he can to improve the current situation.

SK Gaming

The Brazilians from SK Gaming are back to their original lineup, with boltz as their fifth player instead of felps. With their current formation, SK is the strongest team at cs_summit 2, so keep an eye on them and take advantage of this great betting opportunity.

Torqued is a team with an entirely new roster. Their achievements so far have been almost inexistent and they are by far the weakest team participating at this event. You can safely bet against them no matter who they play.

They are in effect the world champions of CS:GO after their 1st place finish at the ELEAGUE Major. Right now, there are only a few teams that can beat them, so they’re very likely to get a top 3 finish at cs_summit 2.

Team Liquid

Their performed poorly at the ELEAGUE Major. They did not manage to adapt to the difficult situation they were in (they had to play with their coach zews as a stand-in) and were eliminated in the New Legends Stage. Since this failure, Liquid has brought in a new player (NAF) from Renegades and are now looking to test their new roster.

Vega Squadron

Vega Squadron was one of the two underdog teams that impressed the audience at the ELEAGUE Major. They defeated not only North, but also Team Liquid, Renegades and even Faze Clan at that event. They came close to qualifying for the Playoffs and are for sure one of the stronger teams going into cs_summit 2.

Betting tips for the opening matches

SK Gaming vs. Torqued

This is destined to be a completely one-sided match. SK Gaming are lightyears ahead of almost every other CS:GO team in the world while Torqued are provincial nobodies at this point. What’s more, Torque are playing with a completely new roster that was formed less than a week ago, while SK Gaming are in their standard formation.

The only problem with this match is that the gains for a direct bet on an SK Gaming victory are very low. The trick is to bet on match events that are consistent with a victory in favor of SK Gaming instead of the match itself. These events (such as who will win each map or each pistol round) are available on Betspawn and have pretty good odds considering the probability of success (which is huge).

North vs. Vega Squadron

This match is at least 80% sure to result in a big upset. Everyone seems to think that North is the better team, but they recently went through roster changes and also lost against Vega Squadron just a short while ago, at the ELEAGUE Major. With bookies such as Betspawn putting the odds at around 1.45-2.55 in favor of North, this match could easily make you a lot of money.

Ninjas in Pyjamas vs. Team Liquid

This match is too much of a gamble simply because both of these teams are in disarray. Theoretically NiP have the stronger roster, but they’ve been out of shape for quite some time now, so there’s no way to know for sure that they’ll deliver.

Cloud9 vs. Heroic

This match presents a great betting opportunity because Cloud9 are vastly superior to Heroic at the moment but their odds are still good enough to make a decent profit by betting on them. The bookies put the odds at around 1.35-3.00 in their favor, which is excellent considering their probability of success.
